Putridity is an Italian death metal band formed in 2005. The group specializes in brutal death metal, characterized by extremely fast tempos, deep guttural growls, and intense blast beat drumming. Their music is dominated by brutality, technical precision, and bloody, macabre lyrics. The band members are experienced musicians who are also active in other metal projects. Their discography includes four full-length albums and several smaller releases. At the end of June this year, they released a new album titled „Morbid Ataraxia,” and it is this release that is the subject of the following review.

„Morbid Ataraxia” is a sonic massacre that leaves no room to breathe or pause for relief. Putridity return after a long studio hiatus with an album that is raw, uncompromising, and technically relentless, serving as a testament to their commitment to an extreme aesthetic. From the very first seconds, it becomes clear that this is not just about brutality—it is also a display of precision, discipline, and musical experience. The tracks are short, intense, and stripped of any unnecessary embellishments, representing the pure essence of brutal death metal in its most concentrated form. The drums crush with the force of a pneumatic hammer, the riffs cut like a surgical scalpel, and the vocals resemble a voice rising from the depths of a coffin. Despite the extremity of the form, the band manages to build tension and a sense of drama, avoiding monotony. „Morbid Ataraxia” is an album that pretends to be nothing else—it is a pure, merciless sonic assault crafted for the most devoted fans of the genre, without any attempt to appeal to those outside the brutal niche.

Putridity to włoski zespół death metalowy, założony w 2005 roku. Grupa specjalizuje się w brutal death metalu, charakteryzującym się ekstremalnie szybkim tempem, niskim growlem i intensywną perkusją typu blast beat. W ich muzyce dominuje brutalność, techniczna precyzja i krwawe, makabryczne teksty. Członkowie zespołu to doświadczeni muzycy, aktywni również w innych projektach metalowych. Ich dyskografia obejmuje cztery albumy i kilka mniejszych wydawnictw. Pod koniec czerwca tego roku ukazał się album, który nosi tytuł „Morbid Ataraxia” i to właśnie temu materiałowi poświęcona jest niniejsza recenzja.

„Morbid Ataraxia” to soniczna masakra, która nie pozostawia miejsca na oddech ani chwilę wytchnienia. Putridity powracają po dłuższej studyjnej przerwie z albumem surowym, bezkompromisowym i technicznie bezlitosnym, będącym świadectwem ich wierności ekstremalnej estetyce. Już od pierwszych sekund słychać, że nie chodzi tu jedynie o brutalność – to również pokaz precyzji, dyscypliny i muzycznego doświadczenia. Utwory są krótkie, intensywne, pozbawione zbędnych ozdobników – stanowią czystą esencję brutal death metalu w jego najbardziej skoncentrowanej formie. Perkusja miażdży z siłą młota pneumatycznego, riffy tną jak chirurgiczny skalpel, a wokale przypominają głos wydobywający się z wnętrza trumny. Mimo ekstremalnej formy, zespół potrafi budować napięcie i dramaturgię, unikając monotonii. „Morbid Ataraxia” to album, który nie udaje niczego – to czysty, bezlitosny atak dźwiękowy, stworzony z myślą o najbardziej zagorzałych fanach gatunku, bez prób przypodobania się komukolwiek spoza brutalnej niszy.
