Vader is a death metal band that needs no special introduction to fans of extreme music. The group was formed in 1983 in Olsztyn by Piotr „Peter” Wiwczarek. Although the lineup has changed many times over the years, Peter has consistently remained the band’s main leader, composer, and cornerstone. The band’s discography includes an impressive number of studio albums, live recordings, and various smaller releases such as EPs and singles. In May of this year, Vader returned with a mini-album titled 'Humanihility’, which marks the latest chapter in their rich career. This review is dedicated to that very release.
Vader has nothing left to prove to anyone. This is a band that has firmly cemented its place in the history of extreme music and has been setting the standard in European death metal for over four decades. Nevertheless, 'Humanihility’, the new EP from the Olsztyn-based legends, shows that Peter and company still have an appetite for more. This release contains just three tracks and under ten minutes of music that hits hard and leaves a lasting impression. The EP opens with „Genocide Designed,” a fast and aggressive track with a strong thrash pulse and Vader’s trademark precision. You can hear echoes of classic albums like Litany or De Profundis, but there’s no sense of going through the motions. It’s a fresh, energetic song that grabs you by the throat from the start. „Rampage” is a true blast—just over two minutes of furious assault. The references to old-school grindcore are subtle but present. It’s a no-compromise song, raw and relentless, played with the passion and fury that only veterans can deliver. In contrast, „Unbending,” the official anthem of this year’s Mystic Festival, slows the tempo slightly but loses none of the weight. There’s groove, a sense of grandeur, excellent riffs, and a guitar solo that gives the track distinct character. The production of Humanihility is tight, heavy, and captures the essence of this short but impactful release. There’s no filler here—each of the three tracks has its own identity and brings something different to the table. 'Humanihility’ is not just an appetizer before the next full-length album. It stands strong on its own as a concise and deliberate statement of power.

Vader to formacja deathmetalowa, której fanom ekstremalnych brzmień nie trzeba specjalnie przedstawiać. Zespół powstał w 1983 roku w Olsztynie z inicjatywy Piotra „Petera” Wiwczarka. Choć skład grupy wielokrotnie ulegał przetasowaniom, to właśnie Peter niezmiennie pozostaje jej głównym liderem, kompozytorem i filarem. W dorobku zespołu znajduje się imponująca liczba albumów studyjnych, rejestracje koncertów oraz różnorodne mniejsze wydawnictwa, takie jak EP-ki i single. W maju bieżącego roku Vader powrócił z minialbumem zatytułowanym 'Humanihility’, który stanowi najnowszy rozdział w ich bogatej karierze. To właśnie tej premierze poświęcona będzie niniejsza recenzja.
Vader nie musi niczego nikomu udowadniać – to formacja, która na stałe zapisała się w historii ekstremalnej muzyki, który od ponad czterech dekad wyznacza standardy w europejskim death metalu. Mimo to 'Humanihility’, nowa EP-ka olsztyńskiej legendy, pokazuje, że Peter i spółka wciąż mają apetyt na więcej. Krążek ten, to zaledwie trzy utwory i niecałe dziesięć minut muzyki, która mocno wbija się pod czaszkę. EP otwiera „Genocide Designed” – szybki, agresywny kawałek z mocnym thrashowym pulsem i typową dla Vader precyzją. Czuć tu echa klasycznych albumów jak Litany czy De Profundis, ale nie ma mowy o autopilocie – to świeży, pełen energii numer, który natychmiast chwyta za gardło. „Rampage” to istna petarda – nieco ponad dwie minuty wściekłego naporu. Nawiązania do starej szkoły grindcore’u są subtelne, ale wyczuwalne. To utwór, który nie bierze jeńców – surowy, bezkompromisowy, zagrany z pasją i furią, jaką potrafią wykrzesać tylko weterani. Z kolei „Unbending” – hymn tegorocznego Mystic Festival – nieco zwalnia tempo, ale nie traci ciężaru. Jest groove, jest monumentalność, są świetne riffy i gitarowa solówka, która dodaje temu numerowi charakteru. Produkcja 'Humanihility’ jest selektywna, ciężka i bardzo dobrze oddaje charakter tej krótkiej, ale treściwej płyty. Nie ma tu miejsca na wypełniacze – każdy z trzech utworów ma swoją tożsamość i wnosi coś innego. 'Humanihility’ to nie tylko przystawka przed kolejnym pełnym albumem – to materiał, który samodzielnie broni się jako zwarty, przemyślany manifest siły.
