Cadaveric Incubator is a Finnish deathgrind band formed in 2005. Their music fuses brutal death metal with the filthy edge of grindcore, drawing inspiration from genre classics such as Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy, and Xysma. After releasing two demo recordings, the band disbanded in 2007, only to return in 2014 with a new lineup and the demo Unburied Abominations. In 2017, they released their debut album, 'Sermons of the Devouring Dead’. Four years later, their second album was released — one we have already covered on our pages. In today’s review, however, we turn our focus to its predecessor.
On their debut album, 'Sermons of the Devouring Dead’, Cadaveric Incubator pay homage to classic death metal, blending sheer brutality with the raw edge of grindcore. Released by Hells Headbangers, the record delivers just twenty-nine minutes of intense, uninterrupted sonic assault that leaves no room to breathe. The band showcases its signature fusion of rapid tempos, crushing riffs, and relentless grindcore blast beats. Beyond the wall of aggressive sound, there are flashes of melody and madness, delivered through searing guitar solos that cut into the mind like a rusted blade. The compositions are built primarily around abrupt tempo changes, pounding drum blasts, and riffs that shift from death metal sludge to grindcore chaos. Although the dynamic range leans heavily on volume extremes, the band skillfully structures the songs to avoid monotony. This album is a sonic onslaught that holds the listener in suspense from the first second to the last. While it brings nothing radically new to the genre, its strength lies in its authenticity and dedication to the classic sound. 'Sermons of the Devouring Dead’ is a must-hear for fans of old-school death metal who appreciate brutality and rawness in their music.

Cadaveric Incubator to fiński zespół deathgrindowy założony w 2005 roku. Ich muzyka łączy brutalny death metal z grindcore’owym brudem, inspirowana takimi klasykami jak Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy czy Xysma. Po wydaniu dwóch materiałów demo, zespół rozpadł się w 2007 roku, by powrócić w 2014 z nowym składem i demo Unburied Abominations. W 2017 roku ukazał się ich debiutancki album „Sermons of the Devouring Dead”. Cztery lata później ukazał się drugi album, o którym pisaliśmy już kiedyś na naszych łamach. W dzisiejszej recenzji skupimy się na jego poprzedniku.
Cadaveric Incubator w swoim pierwszym albumie, 'Sermons of the Devouring Dead’, oddaje hołd klasycznemu death metalowi, łącząc brutalność z grindcore’ową surowością. Płyta, wydana przez Hells Headbangers, to zaledwie dwadzieścia dziewięć minut intensywnego, nieprzerwanego ataku dźwiękowego, który nie daje wytchnienia. Zespół prezentuje charakterystyczne dla siebie połączenie szybkich temp, ciężkich riffów i grindcore’owych blastów. Prócz całej masy agresywnego brzmienia, możemy liczyć na odrobinę melodyjnych ale i szalonych dźwięków za sprawą intensywnych solówek gitarowych, które wrzynają się w umysł niczym zardzewiałe ostrze. Kompozycje opierają się głównie na gwałtownych zmianach tempa, blastach perkusyjnych i ciężkich riffach, które przechodzą z death metalowej miazgi w grindcore’owy chaos. Mimo że dynamika jest oparta głównie na skrajnych wartościach głośności, zespół umiejętnie balansuje kompozycje tak, by nie popaść w monotonię. Ten album to dźwiękowy atak, który trzyma słuchacza w napięciu od pierwszej do ostatniej sekundy. Choć album nie wnosi niczego nowego do gatunku, jego siłą jest autentyczność i oddanie klasycznym brzmieniom. „Sermons of the Devouring Dead” to płyta dla fanów old-schoolowego death metalu, którzy cenią sobie brutalność i surowość dźwięku.
