Skuggor is a one-man music project from Sweden, created by an artist known by the initial M. The music he crafts revolves around black metal, enriched with strong elements of dark ambient, blending atmospheric soundscapes with touches of nature and melancholy. His discography includes three full-length albums, a demo, two split releases, and a single from 2022. Just a few days ago, the third album by this Swedish project was released, and it is this very work that will be the focus of today’s review.

’Where Sun Resigns’ is the third album by the Swedish project Skuggor, continuing its distinctive fusion of ambient black metal with the atmosphere of shadowy forests and introspection. Released in mid-May of this year, the album features seven compositions with a total runtime of just under thirty-two minutes. From the very first sounds, the listener is drawn into a world of sharp guitar riffs and captivating, trance-like melodies. As the album progresses, ambient landscapes intertwine with powerful guitar sections, creating a broad, multi-layered sonic space. There’s no shortage of shifting tempos, raw expression, melancholy, and even touches of experimentation. It’s an emotional journey—filled with darkness, beauty, and contemplation. Skuggor once again proves the ability to craft soundscapes that move deeply and linger long after the final note. Skuggor to jednoosobowy projekt muzyczny z Szwecji, tworzony przez artystę o inicjale M. Muzyka, jaką kreuje oscyluje wokół black metalu z mocnymi pierwiastkami dark ambienu, które łączą atmosferyczne brzmienia z elementami natury i melancholii. W dyskografii znajdziemy trzy albumy, demo, dwa splity i singiel z 2022 roku. Kilka dni temu premierę miał trzeci album tego szwedzkiego projektu i to właśnie nad ten materiał będzie źródłem dzisiejszej recenzji.

’Where Sun Resigns’ to trzeci album szwedzkiego projektu Skuggor, kontynuujący jego charakterystyczne połączenie ambientowego black metalu z atmosferą mrocznych lasów i introspekcji. Album ukazał się w połowie maja bieżącego roku i zawiera siedem kompozycji, których łączny czas trwania to niespełna trzydzieści dwie minuty. Już pierwsze brzmienia wprowadzają słuchacza w świat ostrych gitarowych riffów i urzekających, transowych melodii. W dalszej części płyty ambientowe pejzaże łączą się z mocnymi partiami gitar, budując szeroką, wielowarstwową przestrzeń dźwiękową. Nie brakuje tu zmiennych temp, surowej ekspresji, nostalgii, a także eksperymentalnych motywów. To emocjonalna podróż – pełna mroku, piękna i zamyślenia.
