Decrepisy is an American representative of death metal, which was founded in 2019, and presented its debut album in 2021. Since then, four years have passed to wait for the second full-length material. Four musicians have joined the ranks, and each of them has powered many other bands – more or less famous, but I will not list them here. 'Deific Mourning’ was released under the banner of Carbonized Records.
Death metal songs do not always catch my ear so quickly, but in this case I had no problems loving the album 'Deific Mourning’. Practically from the first notes I was enchanted by the low, almost earth-shattering tones that rolled through my four walls like a caterpillar vehicle. The slow, almost doom metal tempos wonderfully build a monumental atmosphere that drips with darkness and madness. The slowest moments resemble an escape through a road made of hot tar, which tries to stop the listener and swallow them in its black abyss. The guitar riffs are meaty chords that resemble a blow dealt with a hammer, and the slow solos give birth to worms crawling on a decaying body in the imagination. The drums are recorded so well that I felt as if they were being played right next to me, and the low tuning of the drums did a great job. The slower moments are almost hypnotizing and make this album definitely one to listen to more than once. The vocals are incredibly low. It’s a rough growl that seems to add even more weight to the music. It’s rough and dark, and that’s how it should be. The material consists of seven tracks with a total duration of almost forty-five minutes. It’s not short, but I still feel unsatisfied, but maybe that’s a good thing, because it’s nice to listen to one album maniacally and not get tired of it. I definitely recommend reaching for this album.

Decrepisy to amerykański przedstawiciel death metalu, który został powołany do życia w 2019 roku, a debiutancki album przedstawił w 2021. Od tamtej pory minęły cztery lata, by doczekać się drugiego pełnometrażowego materiału. W szeregach znalazło się czterech muzyków, a każdy z nich zasila wiele innych zespołów – mniej lub bardziej znanych, ale nie będę tu wymieniał. ‘Deific Mourning’ został wydany pod banderą Carbonized Records.
Nie zawsze tak szybko wpadają mi w ucho death metalowe utwory, ale w tym przypadku nie miałem żadnych problemów, by pokochać album ‘Deific Mourning’. Praktycznie od pierwszych nut zostałem oczarowany niskimi, niemal wbijającymi w ziemię tonami, które przetoczyły się w moich czterech ścianach niczym pojazd gąsienicowy. Powolne, niemal doom metalowe tempa wspaniale budują monumentalną atmosferę, która ocieka mrokiem i szaleństwem. Najwolniejsze momenty przypominają ucieczkę przez drogę zbudowaną z rozgrzanej smoły, która próbuje zatrzymać słuchacza i pochłonąć go w swojej czarnej otchłani. Riffy gitar to mięsiste akordy, które przypominają cios zadany młotem, a powolne solówki rodzą w wyobraźni robactwo pełzające na rozkładającym się ciele. Perkusja jest tak dobrze nagrana, że miałem wrażenie, jakby grano na niej tuż obok mnie, a niskie strojenie bębnów zrobiło świetną robotę. Wolniejsze momenty niemal hipnotyzują i sprawiają, że ta płyta z pewnością będzie słuchana niejeden raz. Wokal jest niesamowicie niski. To chropowaty growling, który zdaje się dokładać jeszcze więcej ciężaru do muzyki. Jest szorstki i mroczny, i taki właśnie powinien być. Na materiał ten złożyło się siedem utworów o łącznym czasie trwania wynoszącym blisko czterdzieści pięć minut. Niby nie krótko, ale ciągle czuję niedosyt, ale może to dobrze, bo miło jest słuchać maniakalnie jednej płyty i nie mieć jej dość. Polecam koniecznie sięgnąć po ten krążek.
