If genres such as black metal and dungeon synth are close to you, then a skillful combination of these very characteristic sounds will be ideal. This is the music created by the US duo, who revealed their presence on the scene to the world in 2022, releasing their debut EP. A year later, the album entitled ‘Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment’ was released. The vinyl version was taken under their wing by Iron Bonehead Productions, and the cassette was released by Nithstang Productions.

Azathoth’s Dream is another mysterious band, and yet both musicians are still active in Luring. ‘Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment’ starts with a song in the style of dungeon synth with a dark atmosphere, like a shroud covering a dead body. After a while, there is a strong transition to the black metal nature of this work. However, the keyboards do not lose their involvement here. They seem to fill the background, and when necessary, they move more forward. The material consists of ten songs with a total duration of a little over twenty-nine minutes. The musical matter is maintained in a raw, filthy tone and if you think that you will relax with these compositions, because the melody is imposed by the keyboards, you are wrong. These songs reek of a tomb and a musty dungeon. Sure, there are catchy moments that are memorable, but in combination with the whole, they should repel the average listener. The guitars spit out a lot of poisonous riffs, which I liked in the slower moments, where the sound takes on the weight of a stone wall collapsing on your head. The keys are perfectly chosen so that the music dominates with its metal attributes. The drums add a sharp claw to the composition, and in faster moments cause a lot of chaos. The vocals are screechy and exaggerated in their form, but they caught my ear well. It is dark and dingy. I have always liked this kind of music and I will never be free from this kind of music.

Jeżeli bliskie są wam gatunki takie jak black metal i dungeon synth, to idealne będzie umiejętne połączenie tych jakże charakterystycznych brzmień. Taką właśnie muzykę tworzy pochodzący z USA duet, który objawił światu swoją obecność na scenie w 2022 roku, wydając debiutancką EP. Rok później ukazał się album zatytułowany ‘Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment’. Wersję na winylu wziął pod swoje skrzydła Iron Bonehead Productions, a kasetę wydał Nithstang Productions.

Azathoth’s Dream to kolejny tajemniczy zespół, a jednak obaj muzycy udzielają się jeszcze w Luring. ‘Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment’ rozpoczyna utwór utrzymany w klimacie dungeon synth z mroczną atmosferą, niczym całun okrywający martwe ciało. Po chwili jest mocne przejście już do black metalowej natury tego dzieła. Jednak klawisze nie tracą tutaj na zaangażowaniu. Wydają się wypełniać tło, a kiedy trzeba przechodzą bardziej do przodu. Na materiał składa się dziesięć utworów o łącznym czasie trwania wynoszącym trochę ponad dwadzieścia dziewięć minut. Materia muzyczna utrzymana jest w surowym, obskurnym tonie i jeżeli myślisz, że odprężysz się przy tych kompozycjach, bo melodię narzucają klawisze, to jesteś w błędzie. Te utwory cuchną grobowcem i zatęchłym lochem. Jasne, że pojawiają się chwytliwe momenty, które zapadają w pamięć, jednak w połączeniu z całością powinny odpychać przeciętnego słuchacza. Gitary wypluwają sporo jadowitych riffów, które przypadły mi do gustu w wolniejszych momentach, gdzie dźwięk przybiera ciężar walącej się na głowy kamiennej ściany. Klawisze są doskonale dobrane tak, by muzyka przeważała swoimi metalowymi atrybutami. Perkusja dodaje ostrego pazura dla kompozycji, a w szybszych momentach wywołuje sporo chaosu. Wokal skrzekliwy i aż przerysowany w swojej formie, ale dobrze wpadł mi w ucho. Jest mrocznie i obskurnie. Taką muzykę zawsze lubiłem i od takiej muzyki się już nie uwolnię.
