Another enigmatic project is ahead of us, but in this case it oscillates around raw black metal. Basically, all we know is that it released its debut album in 2023 and so far there’s been silence. So I won’t look for information by force…

There are albums that strike my taste from the first sounds and remain in my memory forever… and that’s exactly what Angstloch’s debut material is. 'The Shades of Pale Night’ crushes with its primitive, raw form. A cemetery atmosphere seeps from the speakers at slow and medium tempos. The musical material seems to be woven from darkness, and the filthy riffs leave no illusions that these will be nice and atmospheric melodies. This material is a tribute to the old school of black metal from the early nineties, and if someone said that this album was recorded at that time, I would probably agree with them. The album contains five songs with a total duration of almost thirty-two minutes. The guitar riffs are slow, based on rough chords and can appeal to many black metal maniacs. Some melodies are provided by gloomy keyboards, which do not impose their compositions, but fill the free space, creating an incredibly cold as a corpse atmosphere. The drums hypnotize with their slow, monotonous hitting of the drums. The cymbals crackle a bit due to the use of a raw sound, but somehow it does not bother me at all. The vocals are rough, guttural; they make it even darker. They are devoid of emotions, as if they were dead themselves. This album is a must-have for every listener who finds themselves in the filthy, black metal fumes.

Przed nami kolejny enigmatyczny projekt, jednak w tym przypadku oscyluje on wokół surowego black metalu. W zasadzie wiadomo jedynie, że w 2023 roku wydał debiutancki album i jak na razie cisza. Nie będę więc szukał informacji na siłę…

Są albumy, które od pierwszych dźwięków uderzają w mój gust i pozostają w mojej pamięci na zawsze… i taki właśnie jest debiutancki materiał Angstloch. 'The Shades of Pale Night’ rozgniata swoją prymitywną, surową formą. Cmentarny klimat sączy się z głośników w wolnych i średnich tempach. Materia muzyczna zdaje się być utkana z mroku, a obskurne riffy nie pozostawiają złudzeń, że będą to miłe i nastrojowe melodie. Ten materiał to hołd dla starej szkoły black metalu z początku lat dziewięćdziesiątych, i gdyby ktoś powiedział, że ten krążek nagrano w tamtym okresie, pewnie przyznałbym mu rację. Na albumie znajdziemy pięć utworów o łącznym czasie trwania wynoszącym blisko trzydzieści dwie minuty. Riffy gitar są wolne, opierają się na szorstkich akordach i potrafią wbić się w gusta niejednego maniaka black metalowych brzmień. Nieco melodii dostarczają posępne klawisze, które nie narzucają się swoimi kompozycjami, a wypełniają wolną przestrzeń, czym kreują niesamowicie zimną jak trup atmosferę. Perkusja hipnotyzuje swoim powolnym, monotonnym uderzaniem w bębny. Talerze trochę trzeszczą z racji zastosowania surowego brzmienia, ale jakoś mi to w ogóle nie przeszkadza. Wokal jest chropowaty, gardłowy, sprawia, że robi się jeszcze bardziej mrocznie. Jest pozbawiony emocji, jakby sam w sobie był martwy. Ten album to pozycja obowiązkowa dla każdego słuchacza, odnajdującego się w obskurnych, black metalowych wyziewach.
