Another review and another mysterious project about which little is known. We are talking about A Different Cloud – an atmospheric black metal, one-man project, led by Demian. He has already three albums to his credit, and his art appeared in 2022. It is not known what country the band comes from. What is certain is that it is from Europe. The latest album was released in digital version in early December 2024, and the CD version was released in the second half of February this year.

I came across this album somewhat by accident. I was browsing the contents of one of the stores and this album caught my eye. Without hesitation, I decided to listen to it… and I was very attracted to the music composed for this material. The album consists of four songs with a time well exceeding forty-one minutes. We are dealing here with great, atmospheric playing and very good production. Fast tempos are perfectly combined with melodies, which are broken by depressive-melancholic sound. The musical matter is filled with cool emotions, and yet you can relax with this music, despite its dark nature. The songs are very stretched, and the slightly monotonous drums hypnotize with their parts. Guitar riffs move in the tremolo section, which generates fast tempos and catchy melodies. We also have some slowdowns, where the string hits gain a definite weight. Keyboard instruments also appear, which build the atmosphere and are not intrusive, leaving the guitar tracks more in the forefront. The vocals are a screaming screech that sounds as if it came from a mutilated throat, but it gives a very dark tone to the compositions. 'Skogslott’ is an album that will appeal to atmospheric metal maniacs. You absolutely have to get to know this material.

Kolejna recenzja i kolejny tajemniczy projekt, o którym niewiele wiadomo. Mowa o A Different Cloud – atmospheric black metalowym, jednoosobowym projekcie, na którego czele stoi Demian. Na koncie ma już trzy albumy, a jego sztuka zaistniała w 2022 roku. Nie wiadomo z jakiego kraju pochodzi zespół. Pewne jest to, że z Europy. Najnowszy album ukazał się w wersji cyfrowej na początku grudnia 2024 roku, a w wersji CD ukazał się w drugiej połowie lutego, tego roku.

Na album ten trafiłem trochę przypadkiem. Przeglądałem zawartość jednego ze sklepów i w oko wpadł mi ten krążek. Bez wahania postanowiłem go przesłuchać… i mocno zaiskrzyło mi z muzyką skomponowaną na ten materiał. Album składa się z czterech utworów o czasie mocno przekraczającym czterdzieści jeden minut. Mamy tu do czynienia ze świetnym, atmosferycznym graniem i bardzo dobrą produkcją. Szybkie tempa doskonale łączą się z melodiami, które przełamane są depresyjno–melancholijnym brzmieniem. Materię muzyczną przepełniają chłodne emocje, a jednak można się zrelaksować przy tej muzyce, pomimo jej mrocznej natury. Utwory są mocno rozciągnięte, a nieco monotonna perkusja hipnotyzuje swoimi partiami. Riffy gitar poruszają się w sekcji tremolo, co generuje szybkie tempa i chwytliwe melodie. Mamy też trochę zwolnień, gdzie uderzenia w struny nabierają zdecydowanego ciężaru. Pojawiają się również instrumenty klawiszowe, które budują atmosferę i nie są nachalne, pozostawiają ścieżki gitar bardziej z przodu. Wokale to krzyczący skrzek, który brzmi, jakby wydobył się z okaleczonego gardła, jednak nadaje on bardzo mrocznego tonu kompozycjom. ‘Skogslott’ to album, który przypadnie do gustu maniakom atmosferycznego metalu. Koniecznie musicie zapoznać się z tym materiałem.
