The guys contributing to REGURGITATED GUTS are definitely not idle in other bands. The names are really quite a lot. Unfortunately, they things are a little worse in the described project, as there is only one EP from 2017, and so far the silence puts a shroud over the “reguritatated guts”.
Each of the tracks on this release doesn’t even last three minutes and it’s by no means a reason to complain. The dynamics of the material knocks down, and the direction of the Canadian music towards old school Death Metal and overt homage to Finnish traditions of the genre is bewitching. Well, at least for my sick senses. We can find here references to Demigod, beginnings of Amorphis or Funebre. Let’s start with the sound, which is so fucking Finnish that there is absolutely no doubt. Heavy, suffocating and most of all dark. Great riffs, which in slow parts are crushing, and in faster ones show really good ideas in a form of tremolo. REGURGITATED GUTS definitely focused on smuggling the biggest possible dose of horror and abomination into their tracks, and all kinds of weirdness that happened on other albums in most cases of the Finnish scene – were omitted. The band moves mainly in medium tempos, but there is no lack of the already mentioned slowdowns or speeds. The whole correlates very well with each other and you can hear that the guys know what this music is about. The drums are limited to the basic role. Fortunately, any technical 'show-offs’ were eliminated and the focus was on emphasizing the dynamics of the riffs. Vocals are a definite advantage here, although I find it difficult to single them out, because the musical matter is simply perfect. Dan operates with a deep growl, gutturals coming out of his throat are perfect. There are also parts where vocals go into a screaming manner and well… again I have to say it’s perfect! Anyway, listen to this Death Metal beast for yourself!

Panowie udzielający się w REGURGITATED GUTS zdecydowanie nie próżnują w innych zespołach. Nazw jest naprawdę sporo. Niestety, trochę gorzej im idzie w opisywanym projekcie, bo na koncie jest tylko jedna EPka z 2017 roku i do tej pory cisza kładzie się całunem na „wyrzyganych flakach”.
Każdy z utworów na tym wydawnictwie nie trwa nawet trzech minut i bynajmniej nie jest to powód do narzekania. Dynamika materiału powala, a ukierunkowanie muzyki Kanadyjczyków na tory old school Death Metalu i jawne hołdowanie fińskim tradycjom tegoż gatunku jest urzekające. No, przynajmniej dla moich chorych zmysłów. Znajdziemy tu odwołania do Demigod, początków Amorphis czy Funebre. Zacznijmy od brzmienia, które jest tak kurewsko fińskie, że tu nie ma absolutnie żadnych wątpliwości. Ciężko, duszno i przede wszystkim mrocznie. Świetnie riffy, które w wolnych partiach wgniatają, a w szybszych ukazują naprawdę niezłe pomysły w formie tremola. REGURGITATED GUTS zdecydowanie skupiło się na przemyceniu jak największej dawki horroru i ohydy do swoich utworów, a wszelakie udziwnienia jakie działy się na dalszych albumach w większości przypadków sceny fińskiej – zostały pominięte. Zespół porusza się w głównie w średnich tempach, ale nie brakuje wspomnianych już zwolnień czy właśnie przyspieszenia. Całość bardzo dobrze ze sobą koreluje i słychać, że chłopaki wiedzą o co chodzi w tej muzyce. Perkusja ogranicza się do podstawowej roli. Na szczęście zostały pominięte ewentualne 'popisy’ techniczne, a skupiono się na podkreśleniu dynamiki riffów. Zdecydowanym atutem są tu wokale, chociaż wyróżnianie ich przychodzi mi z trudem, ponieważ materia muzyczna jest po prostu doskonała. Dan operuje głębokim growlem, gutturale wydobywające się z jego gardła są doskonałe. Pojawiają się też partie w których wokale przechodzą w krzyczaną manierę i cóż… ponownie muszę przyznać, że jest to doskonałe! Zresztą, posłuchajcie sami tej Death Metalowej bestii!
