Some time ago an album by MORBOSIDAD fell into my hands, in fact it’s no news, as the material was first released in 2008 thanks to Nuclear War Now! Productions, and in June of this year 'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’ scored a reissue under the wings of Old Temple. The band has been poisoning the world with its filthy output since 1991. In 1995 to 1998 they had a hiatus due to the tragic death of their drummer. Their debut album didn’t come out until 2000, and their current discography includes five full-lengths, as well as numerous smaller releases, among which splits dominate.
'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’ is nothing but war metal. Admittedly, I like this kind of playing, but I have to confess that it didn’t spark me with this album. We have a lot of fast riffs here, they are too quiet in relation to the drums, which effectively drown them out. There are also a few sick solos that could also be louder. The bass guitar is very boomy, making the low notes blend into one somewhat cacophonous, obtuse sound, which is more like some kind of echo than hitting the bass strings. The blasting drums do a great job. As I mentioned earlier, I get the impression that it’s too far forward, but if you like war metal fumes, there will certainly be no reason to complain. The low, husky vocals make no room for sentiment or pithiness.
If only the execution of the ideas had been refined, because years later it just sounds lame. In the case of 'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’, it’s really better to listen to their inspirations like the obvious Blasphemy or Archgoat and the originals than to agonize over this album. If you haven’t had a chance to experience this material before, and have a desire to catalyze yourself with cacophonous noise, now is a great opportunity to catch up thanks to Old Temple.

Jakiś czas temu w ręce wpadł mi album MORBOSIDAD, w zasadzie to żadna nowość, bo materiał ten po raz pierwszy ukazał się w 2008 roku dzięki Nuclear War Now! Productions, a w czerwcu tego roku 'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’ zaliczył wznowienie pod skrzydłami rodzimej Old Temple. Zespół od 1991 roku swoją plugawą twórczością zatruwa świat. W Latach 1995 do 1998 mieli przerwę w działalności przez tragiczną śmierć perkusisty. Debiutancki album ukazał się dopiero w 2000 roku, a obecnie w dyskografii znajdziemy pięć pełnych materiałów, oraz liczne mniejsze wydawnictwa, pośród których dominują splity.
'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’ to nic innego jak war metal. Co prawda lubię takie granie, ale muszę się przyznać, że nie zaiskrzyło mi z tym albumem. Mamy tu sporo szybkich riffów, są zbyt ciche względem perkusji, która skutecznie je zagłusza. Jest też kilka chorych solówek, które również mogłyby być głośniejsze. Gitara basowa jest bardzo dudniąca, przez co niskie tony zlewają się w jeden nieco kakofoniczny, obskurny dźwięk, który przypomina bardziej jakieś echo niż uderzanie o struny basu. Blastująca perkusja świetnie się sprawdza. Jak już wcześniej wspomniałem, odnoszę wrażenie, że jest za bardzo wysunięta do przodu, jednak jeżeli lubicie war metalowe wyziewy, to na pewno nie będzie powodów do narzekania. Wokal niski, chropowaty sprawia, że nie ma miejsca na sentymenty i litość.
Gdyby tylko wykonanie pomysłów zostało dopracowane, bo po latach brzmi to po prostu słabo. W przypadku 'Profana La Cruz Del Nazareno’ naprawdę lepiej posłuchać ich inspiracji jak oczywiste Blasphemy lub Archgoat i pierwowzorów niż męczyć się z tym albumem. Jeżeli nie mieliście wcześniej okazji do poznania tego materiału, a macie chęć katować się kakofonicznym hałasem, to obecnie jest świetna okazja do nadrobienia dzięki Old Temple.
