DARKDRUID to nowa nazwa na scenie ekstremalnego metalu, ponieważ powstał on w 2021 roku, a i jego wszystkie materiały jak dotąd zostały nagrane w 2021. Na ich koncie jest demo, singiel oraz EP. W składzie znalazło się trzech muzyków, których wcześniej nie miałem przyjemności poznać z innych dokonań, ale za to trzeba przyznać, że warsztat muzyczny mają naprawdę świetny. Żeby już nie przedłużać, przejdźmy do poniższej recenzji 'Exitio Mortem’.
’Exitio Mortem’ to krążek, który mocno mnie zaskoczył – oczywiście, pozytywnie, bo nie spodziewałem się aż takiego regresu we wczesne lata dziewięćdziesiąte. Po za tym mocnym zaskoczeniem była dla mnie długość materiału, która wynosi zaledwie nieco ponad trzynaście minut. Na tę płytę składa się sześć utworów, a muzyka która wypływa z głośników, to mieszanka death i doom metalu, które są podane w równych proporcjach. Zaskakuje mnie bardzo mocno ta szalona zmiana temp, która z szybkich potrafi wskoczyć w bardzo powolne prędkości. Co do riffów to mamy tu mocną rozbieżność między szybkimi uderzeniami w struny, a wolnymi akordami, które potrafią zmiażdżyć jaja. Do tego dochodzą te partie na wysokich tonach, które potrafią wywołać ciarki na ciele, a dźwięk ten przeszywa umysł z taką precyzją, jak chirurgiczne narzędzie. Gitara basowa mocno przytłacza swoim brzmieniem, a w niektórych momentach wręcz dudni, co moim zdaniem nie jest żadną wadą. Perkusja mnie rozpierdoliła w szybkich tempach, wywołując wręcz mimowolne tupanie stopą w ten rytm, a podczas zwolnień, hipnotyzuje, uzależnia, sprawia, że te trzynaście minut muzyki mija znacznie dłużej, ale i wymusza ciągłe zapętlanie tego materiału. Wokal, to oczywiście nastawiony na death metalowy growling głos, który jest niski chropowaty, ale i głęboki. Ta muzyka potrafi przywołać ducha dawnych lat, który nadal jest przy mnie i już zostanie ze mną na zawsze. Nie da się nie polecić tego tytułu, więc bierzcie go, póki jeszcze jest.

DARKDRUID is a new name on the extreme metal scene, as it was formed in 2021, and all of its material so far has been recorded in 2021 as well. They have a demo, a single and an EP to their credit. The lineup includes three musicians I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting before from other accomplishments, but for that I have to admit that they have a really great musical workshop. So as not to prolong any longer, let’s get to the review of 'Exitio Mortem’ below.
’Exitio Mortem’ is a disc that strongly surprised me – positively, of course, as I did not expect such a regression into the early nineties. Beyond that, a strong surprise for me was the length of the material, which is only a little over thirteen minutes. This album consists of six tracks, and the music that flows out of the speakers is a mixture of death and doom metal, which are given in equal proportions. What surprises me a lot is the frenetic change of tempos, which can jump from fast ones into very slow speeds. As for the riffs, there’s a strong discrepancy between fast strikes on the strings and slow chords that can crush your balls. On top of that, there are those treble parts that can send shivers down the body, and the sound pierces the mind with such precision as a surgical instrument. The bass guitar strongly overwhelms with its sound, and at some moments it even rumbles, which in my opinion is not a drawback at all. The percussion spoiled me in fast tempos, causing me to even involuntarily stomp my foot to that rhythm, and during slowdowns, it hypnotizes, addicts, makes those thirteen minutes of music pass much longer, but also forces me to loop this material over and over again. The vocals, are, of course, death metal growling oriented voice, which is low harsh, but also deep. This music manages to evoke the spirit of the old days, which is still with me and is already going to stay with me forever. It’s impossible not to recommend this title, so get it while it’s still around.
