Twórczość tychże kolesi mogliśmy poznać już w przeszłości, ponieważ cały skład NULLIFICATION to także Desolator oraz Formless Odeon. Ten drugi, być może trochę bardziej rozpoznawalny, a to za sprawą debiutanckiej EPki z 2020 roku, którą wydał Raul z Memento Mori – dobrze znany label, od lat w pełni oddany podziemnemu Death Metalowi. Filipińczycy zaprezentowali nam trzydzieści sześć minut konkretnego Metalu Śmierci i chwała im za to. Absolutnie fantastyczne brzmienie tego albumu przywołuje wspomnienia czasów, gdy dopiero jako człowiek z szóstej klasy szkoły podstawowej zaczynałem odkrywać taką muzykę. Death Metal autorstwa NULLIFICATION to mikstura wczesnego Dismember z elementami dobrze znanymi nam z jedynki lub dwójki samego Morbid Angel. Przyznaję, album kręci się w odtwarzaczu już drugi dzień i jest to bodaj dziesiąty odsłuch, a ja nie mam dosyć. Konkretność aranżacji riffów to po prostu pieprzona magia. Cała tona wyśmienitej rytmiki porywającej zmysły i wywołująca odruch uniesionej w górę zaciśniętej pięści, napierdalającej wraz z muzyką. Towarzyszą temu cholernie agresywne melodie. Usłyszymy także solówki. Tu jest bezdyskusyjnie wszystko, co na 'Kingdoms to Hovel’ powinno się znaleźć. I naprawdę słychać, że chłopaki potrafią grać, potrafią tworzyć konkretne utwory zarówno z pomysłem jak i polotem. Partie bębnów to po prostu bomba. Sporo tu archaicznego walenia w beczki, ale ta technika jest podrasowana interesującymi przejściami na tomach, dobrą pracą centralek i niemałym udziałem blach. Na koniec mamy wokale, które w swojej formie nie mogły być bardziej klasyczne. Growle, kapitalnie staro szkolne, po prostu miażdżą. I pewnie, znajdzie się gro osób, które uzna ten Death Metal do ostatka za nieodkrywczy, że to odgrzewany kotlet a na dodatek kwadratowy. Te osoby mają pewnie rację, ale co z tego? To jest muzyka z głębi podziemia, muzyka hołdująca wczesnym latom 90-tym. Konkret, totalny konkret.

We may have become familiar with the work of these guys in the past, as the entire NULLIFICATION lineup also includes Desolator and Formless Odeon. The latter, perhaps a little more recognizable, and that’s thanks to their 2020 debut EP, which was released by Raul of Memento Mori – a well-known label that has been fully dedicated to underground Death Metal for years. The Filipinos have presented us with thirty-six minutes of definite Death Metal, and praise for them. The absolutely fantastic sound of this album brings back memories of the time when I was only beginning to discover such music as a sixth grade elementary school man. Death Metal by NULLIFICATION is a concoction of early Dismember with elements we know well from the first or second album of Morbid Angel itself. I admit, the CD is spinning in the player for the second day and this is probably the tenth listening and I can’t get enough of it. The concreteness of the riff arrangements is just fucking magic. A whole ton of exquisite rhythm that thrills the senses and evokes the reflex of a clenched fist raised in the air, thrusting along with the music. This is accompanied by some damn aggressive melodies. We also hear solos. There is indisputably everything here that should be on 'Kingdoms to Hovel’. And you can really audibly hear that the guys can play, they can create definite songs with both ideas and flair. The drum parts are simply the bomb. There’s a lot of archaic banging on the drums, but this technique is bolstered by interesting transitions on the toms, good work of the kick drums and a not insignificant share of the cymbals. Finally, we have the vocals, which couldn’t be more classic in their form. Growls, capably old-school, simply crush. And sure, there will be a bunch of people who will find this Death Metal to the last to be undiscovering, that it’s a reheated chop and on top of that a square one. These people are probably right, but so what? This is music from the depths of the underground, tribute music of the early 90s. A real deal, total fukking solid record.
