Najnowszy, drugi album Nowo Zelandczyków został wydany około miesiąca temu. Twórczość VERBERIS nie jest mi obca i posiadam w kolekcji debiutancki album oraz następującą po nim w dyskografii EPkę. Na „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” uświadczymy rozwinięcia stylistyki jaką ten projekt się zajmował od czasu debiutu. Bardzo duży wpływ, przynajmniej tak mi się wydaje, na obecny stan rzeczy jest dobranie przez DA trzech doświadczonych muzyków z hord jak Heresiarch, Ulcerate. Czas zatem przejść do zawartości albumu, zapraszam.
„Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” to pięć utworów zamykających się w prawie godzinie muzyki, hybrydy Black i Death Metalu. Pomimo długości materiału nie ma żadnej mowy o tym by móc się nudzić. Utwory różnią się od siebie, ale są spójne i dla przykładu taki kolos dwudziesto minutowy zamykający płytę nie odstępuje dynamiką utworom oscylującym w granicach sześciu minut. Materiał zaczyna się totalną burzą dźwięków, ciosem, który powoli zaczyna ustępować gdy poruszamy się w głąb albumu. Pierwsze na co należy zwrócić uwagę, to świetne brzmienie. Na „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” usłyszymy najmniejszy szczegół, nic nie pozostaje ukryte przez celowe lub i nie niedopatrzenie realizatora dźwięku. Dla uspokojenia dodam, że album nie został sztucznie przeprodukowany i jego zawiła, ohydna dusza wypełza z otchłani jawiąc się pełną grozy symbiozą dźwięków. Zespół porusza się we wszystkich z możliwych prędkości i na dobrą sprawę nie ma się tu do czegokolwiek przyczepić. Wszystko się zazębia, brakuje momentów konsternacji, ten materiał mimo swojej niebanalnej natury płynie. Jeśli miałbym się bawić w jakiś porównania, to znajdziemy tu dużo wpływów z obecnego Deathspell Omega, Aosoth. Trudno podejść w słowach do meterii muzyki i rozłożyć ją na czynniki pierwsze ze względu na jej zróżoność i wielowarstwowość. „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” znajdziemy elementy hipnozy muzycznej, pewnego rodzaju rytualne podejście wżerające się w umysł. Metafizyczne i okultystyczne doznania mieszają się ze sobą tworząc transcendentalną mantrę. Stylistyka VERBERIS to dysonansowy, nawet nieco progresywny Black Metal, który wpija w swe cielsko elementy Death Metalu i połączenie właśnie prostszych, wściekłych partii z tymi nawet nieco wysublimowanymi fragmentami daje olbrzymią przestrzeń twórczą z czego Nowo Zelandczycy korzystają. Kończąc już powiem tylko tyle – konkretny materiał wart wydania kasy więc wiecie co robić.

The New Zealanders’ latest album was released about a month ago. The work of VERBERIS is not unfamiliar to me and I have the debut album and the EP that followed it in the discography in my collection. On „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” we witness an expansion of the style this project has been pursuing since its debut. A very big influence, at least I think so, on the current state of matters is DA’s selection of three experienced musicians from hordes like Heresiarch, Ulcerate. So it’s time to move on to the contents of the album, I encourage you to do so.
„Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” is five tracks closing in on almost an hour of music, a hybrid of Black and Death Metal. Despite the length of the material, there is no question of being bored. Tracks differ from each other, but they are coherent and, for example, such a twenty-minute colossus closing the album does not deviate in dynamics from the tracks oscillating around six minutes. The material begins with a total storm of sound, a blow that slowly begins to subside as we move deeper into the album. The first thing to notice is the great sound. On „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” we will hear the smallest detail, nothing remains hidden by the intentional or not oversight of the sound engineer. For the sake of reassurance, let me add that the album has not been artificially overproduced and its intricate, hideous soul crawls out of the abyss appearing as a full-blown symbiosis of sounds. The band moves at all of the possible speeds, and on the whole, there is nothing to complain about here. Everything interlocks, there are no moments of disconcertment, this material, despite its non-trivial nature, flows. If I were to play with some comparisons, you will find a lot of influences from the current Deathspell Omega, Aosoth. It’s difficult to approach in words the metrics of the music and break it down because of its diversity and multi-layeredness. „Adumbration of the Veiled Logos” you will find elements of musical hypnosis, a kind of ritualistic approach that sticks in the mind. Metaphysical and occult experiences mix together to create a transcendental mantra. VERBERIS’ style is dissonant, even slightly progressive Black Metal, which imbues elements of Death Metal into its body, and the combination of just the simpler, furious parts with those even slightly sublime passages gives a huge creative space, which the New Zealanders take advantage of. In closing I’ll just say this – definite material worth spending money on so you know what to do.
