Kolejny nowy materiał wydany pod skrzydłami Werewolf Promotion to album słowackiego SIRIN. Zespół ten za pewne kojarzycie już z poprzednich wydawnictw w tej wytwórni, jak również za sprawą taśmy demo wydanej w Under the Sign of Garazel Productions. SIRIN narodził się w 2006 roku i do dzisiaj prężnie działa na scenie pagan black metal zalewając ją kolejnymi wydawnictwami. Póki co, na koncie są dwa albumy, trzy splity i materiał demo. Za wszystkie sznurki w tym projekcie pociąga SturmWolf, a co do samej nazwy, jak można znaleźć w sieci – Sirin to mitologiczny stwór z rosyjskich legend, z głową i klatką piersiową pięknej kobiety i ciałem ptaka.
Album od początku kopie po gębie pogańskim black metalem, średnie i wolniejsze tempa wchłaniają się w umysł. Na krążku znajdziemy osiem utworów, które łącznie trwają blisko czterdzieści trzy minuty. Kompozycje z jednej strony nawiązują do black metalu z połowy lat dziewięćdziesiątych, a te pogańskie smaczki podsycają dźwięki, które odpowiadają muzyce folk. Może nie każdemu przypadną do gustu wplecione w ostre riffy flety, ale mi na swój sposób się podoba takie podejście. Z jednej strony dużo jest w tej muzyce mroku, który jednak poprzetykany jest bardziej pozytywnymi stronami życia, które zresztą nie polega na ciągłym gniewie, a jest w nim również miejsce na inne emocje. Przy czym takie połączenie ostrej muzyki z melodyjną sprawia, jakby odesłanie w inne czasy. Kompozycje są przemyślane i atakują zarówno melodią, agresją, oraz mrokiem. Riffy gitar to szybkie kostkowanie strun w tremolo. Gitary potrafią ostro namieszać wściekłością wpełzającą do uszu, jednak jest tu też sporo miejsca na niebanalną melodię. Gitara basowa wypełnia tło niskimi tonami, jednak jest bardzo wyraźna i ociepla cały – zdawałoby się surowy klimat. Perkusja genialnie brzmi w szybkich tempach, a i przejścia na bębnach potrafią wywołać sporą dawkę dreszczy na plecach. Trzeba przyznać, że dobra produkcja ma duży wpływ na tak znakomity odbiór dźwięków i ja to doceniam. Jak już wcześniej wspomniałem, można tu usłyszeć również flet czy tym podobny instrument – ciężko mi się stwierdzić, bo nie jestem maniakiem takich brzmień – jednak doceniam ten wkład, bo połączenie tego instrumentu z gitarami wyszło bardzo ciekawie i oryginalnie. Całości dopełnia wokal, który zbliżony jest to black metalowego skrzeczenia, jednakże jakby bardziej suchy i wyraźny. Niesie ze sobą mrok i dużo złości, dzięki czemu w prosty i niezawodny sposób wchłania się w umysł, jak krew w żyzną glebę. Jeżeli lubicie pogańskie brzmienia, to gwarantuję Wam, że ten album wpasuje się w Wasze gusta.

Another new material released under the wings of Werewolf Promotion is an album by Slovakia’s SIRIN. You may already know this band from previous releases on the label, as well as from the demo tape released on Under the Sign of Garazel Productions. SIRIN was born in 2006 and has been active in the pagan black metal scene until today, flooding it with new releases. So far, they have two albums, three splits and demo material to their credit. SturmWolf is pulling all the strings on this project, and as for the name itself, as you can find online – Sirin is a mythological creature from Russian legends, with the head and chest of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird.
From the beginning, the album kicks in the teeth with pagan black metal with medium and slower tempos absorbed into the mind. There are eight tracks on the album, which total nearly forty-three minutes. The compositions, on the one hand, hark back to black metal of the mid-nineties, and these pagan flavors are fueled by sounds that correspond to folk music. Maybe not everyone will like the flutes woven into the sharp riffs, but I like this approach in its own way. On the one hand, there is a lot of darkness in this music, which, however, is interspersed with more positive sides of life, which, by the way, is not about constant anger, and there is also room for other emotions. At the same time, such a combination of harsh and melodic music makes, as if sent back to other times. The compositions are thoughtful and attack with both melody, aggression and darkness. The guitar riffs are quick dicing of strings in tremolo. The guitars can stir harshly with fury crawling into the ears, but there is also plenty of room for remarkable melody. The bass guitar fills the background with low tones, but is very clear and warms up the whole – seemingly harsh atmosphere. The drums sound brilliantly in fast tempos, and the drum passages can also send a good dose of shivers down your spine. You have to admit that good production has a big impact on such an excellent reception of sounds and I appreciate it. As I mentioned earlier, you can also hear a flute or similar instrument here – it’s hard for me to tell, because I’m not a maniac for such sounds – but I value this contribution, because the combination of this instrument with guitars came out very interesting and original. The whole is complemented by the vocals, which are close to black metal screeches, however, as if drier and clearer. It carries with it darkness and a lot of anger, making it easily and reliably absorbed into the mind, like blood into fertile soil. If you like pagan sounds, I guarantee you that this album will fit your taste.
