Drugie demo Austriaków z ALRUNA to żadna nowość, ale może dla kogoś będzie nowinką wartą sprawdzenia. Kaseta ukazała się w 2018 roku i mamy tu do czynienia z piwnicznym, surowym Black Metalem. Nie ma tu miejsca na sterylne brzmienie, bo całość brzmi jakby ktoś wykopał relikt z wczesnych lat ’90-tych. Zapraszam zatem do zatęchłej pleśnią piwnicy i korytarzami ciemności wybierzmy się ku rytuałom otchłani.

ALRUNA, twór zdecydowanie przynależny głębokiemu podziemiu. Jedyne co można się doszukać, to fakt, że w szwergi tego projektu są zamieszani ludzie z Kringa. Te niecałe 18 minut to prymitywny klimat mający w sobie dozę pewnej melodyki. Co prawda przez większość czasu jesteśmy tu torturowani ascetycznym i uderzająco silnie surowym Black Metalem, tak dla kontrastu horda sięga również po rozwiązania bardziej klimatyczne. Uświadczymy tutaj gitary bez przesterów, wprowadzające melancholijne doznania, które mieszają się ponownie z agresją i bezceremonialną prostotą. Black Metal ALRUNA podąża znanymi nam dobrze ścieżkami, ale kroczy nimi z dumnie uniesioną głową. Riffy gitar są nacechowane surowym tłem, ale zarazem gitara prowadząca wprowadza tu ciekawe aranże. Muzyka nabiera jakby innego oblicza, jest bardziej pełna i najzwyczajniej ta ohyda zaczyna rosnąć i pulsować w odbiorcy. Świetne wokale, które przechodzą z BM skrzeków w różnego rodzaju krzyki, przyzywające demoniczne moce nawoływania, by wreszcie zabłysnąć czystymi głosami… Przyznaję, że to robi wrażenie! W tle schowane są też klawisze, przynajmniej w niektórych partiach. Co również jest ciekawe, to całkiem dobrze słyszalny bas i perkusja. Sekcja rytmiczna, oczywiście bez zachwytów, ale brzmi to nader przekonywająco i wyrywa do kolejnych przesłuchań. Zdecydowanie polecam!

The second demo from Austrians ALRUNA is no news, but maybe for someone it will be a piece of novelty worth checking out. The cassette was released in 2018 and here we are dealing with cellar raw Black Metal. There is no place for sterile sound, because the whole thing sounds like someone dug up a relic from the early ’90s. I invite you to a mouldy and musty basement and through the corridors of darkness let’s go towards the rituals of the abyss.

ALRUNA, a creation definitely belonging to the deep underground. The only thing you can find out is that people from Kring are involved in the seams of this project. These less than 18 minutes are a primitive atmosphere with a dose of certain melodics. Admittedly, most of the time we are tortured with ascetic and strikingly raw Black Metal, but in contrast the horde also reaches for more atmospheric solutions. Here we can experience guitars without distortion, introducing melancholic sensations, which are mixed again with aggression and unceremonious simplicity. Black Metal by ALRUNA follows well known paths, but walks them with its head proudly raised. Guitar riffs are characterized by a raw background, but at the same time the lead guitar introduces interesting arrangements. The music takes on a different face, it’s more full and simply this abomination starts to grow and pulsate in the listener. Great vocals, which go from BM squawks to all sorts of screams, summoning demonic powers calls, to finally shine with pure voices… I must admit that it’s impressive! The keyboards are also hidden in the background, at least in some parts. What is also interesting is quite well audible bass and drums. The rhythm section, of course, without rapture, but it sounds very convincing and makes you want to listen to it again. Definitely recommended!
