Death Metal z Argentyny. I to, cholera, jaki! BLOODFIEND powstał w 2009 roku w Buenos Aires by tego samego roku zadebiutować demem o tej samej nazwie co opisywana kompilacja. Na tymże cd-r znajdowały się trzy utwory, które otwierają naszego składaka. Poza tymi trzema śmiertelnymi hymnami w oryginalnej wersji, znalazły się tu też trzy covery: Autopsy, Napalm Death (po co?) i Abscess. Dalej krążek dopełniono dwoma wałkami z debiutanckiego albumu w wersji surowego miksu oraz na koniec mamy pięć utworów live z 2010 roku (z czego jeden to cover Nihilist / Entombed „Supposed to Rot”). Łącznie 13 strzałów dających prawie 40 minut materiału. A jak to wszystko brzmi i z czym to można zjeść? Zapraszam do dalszej części.
Spoglądając chociażby na zespoły o jakich covery pokusił się BLODDFIEND, łatwo można wywnioskować z jaką muzyką mamy tu do czynienia. Death Metal starej szkoły, absolutnie nie dopuszczający w swej twórczości nawet namiastek jakichkolwiek nowinek nowomodnego grania. Wszystko, co usłyszycie na tym krążku już było, ale zapewne jak i ja, będziecie mieć to głęboko w dupie. Każda stylistyka rządzi się swoimi prawami, a Death Metal grany przez BLOODFIEND to pieprzony hołd dla starej szkoły. Świetne riffy, które mieszają w sobie melodyjność z rytmicznym ciężarem. „Revolting Death” to duży ukłon w stronę szwedzkiego grania. Tu już nie chodzi o same brzmienie okraszone charakterystycznym piachem, ale same aranżacje. Te z kolei są proste jak cholera, ale chwytają skutecznie za jaja! Zespół nie sięga z przesadą po szybkie tempa, materiał jest wyważony i słychać jak dobrze to wszystko jest zgrane. Dla mnie, z punktu widzenia (słyszenia) słuchacza, po prostu cieszy mi mordę. Death Metal, który sam w sobie jest klasą. Wartym elementem, któremu należy się zwrócenie uwagi, są wokale. Głębokie growle, które pogłębiają dynamikę muzyki, ale i nakreślają jeszcze dosadniej wizje muzycznego horroru BLOODFIEND. Chociaż dla przykładu, w coverze Abscess, są krzykliwe i równie mocno przekonujące. Całość jest dobrze nagrana i nie ma skoków głośności czy jakości pomiędzy poszczególnymi częściami składanki.
Jako, że posiadam w kolekcji jeszcze dwa albumy Argentyńczyków, dzisiejszy dzień upłynie pod znakiem BLOODFIEND i ich Death Metalu starej szkoły. Szukajcie i nabywajcie, bo każde z wydawnictw tych maniaków to solidny cios. Oby tak dalej!

Death Metal from Argentina. And what a bloody good one it is! BLOODFIEND was formed in 2009 in Buenos Aires and the same year debuted with a demo of the same name as the described compilation. On that cd-r were three tracks, which open our compilation. Apart from these three lethal anthems in the original version, there were also three covers: Autopsy, Napalm Death ( what for?) and Abscess. The disc is rounded off with two tracks from the debut album in the raw mix version and finally there are five live tracks from 2010 (one of which is a cover of Nihilist / Entombed „Supposed to Rot”). A total of 13 shots giving almost 40 minutes of material. And how does it all sound and what can you eat it with?That you can check out below.
Looking at the bands that BLODDFIEND have covered, it’s easy to deduce what kind of music we’re dealing with here. Death Metal of the old school, absolutely not allowing in their work even a substitute of any novelties of modern playing. Everything you hear on this album has already been here, but probably, like me, you won’t give a damn. Every style has its own rules and Death Metal played by BLOODFIEND is a fucking tribute to the old school. Great riffs that mix melodic with rhythmic heaviness. „Revolting Death” is a big nod to Swedish style of playing. It’s not about the sound itself sprinkled with characteristic sand, but the arrangements themselves. These, in turn, are simple as hell, but they effectively grab you by the balls! The band doesn’t reach for fast tempos with exaggeration, the material is balanced and you can hear how well it all comes together. For me, from a listener’s point of view, it just makes my mouth happy. Death Metal that is in a class by itself. A worthwhile element to pay attention to are the vocals. Deep growls, which deepen the dynamics of music, but also outline even more bluntly the vision of BLOODFIEND’s musical horror. Although, for example, in the cover of Abscess, they are screaming and equally convincing. The whole thing is well recorded and there are no jumps in volume or quality between the different parts of the compilation.
As I have two more albums of the Argentines in my collection, today will be marked by BLOODFIEND and their old school Death Metal. Look out for and purchase, as each release from these maniacs packs a solid punch. Let’s keep it up!
