Szkoda, że trochę ucichło po tym jakże obiecujęcym tworze. Niby tragedii nie ma, bo mija dopiero trzeci rok ciszy z obozu Hiszpanów, ale jest to już trochę niepokojące. Z drugiej strony, nic się takiego nie dzieje, bo projektów / zespołów do odsłuchu pozostają nadal spore tony. Jednak, na tyle debiut mi się podobał i dość często do niego wracam, że wolałbym by drugi album powstał. Sprawy ode mnie nie zależne zostawmy na boku i skupmy się na ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION. Horda powstała w 2010 roku, ale do 2014 roku funkcjonowała pod nazwą Kill As One. O tym tworze nic mi absolutnie nie wiadomo, a i informacji żadnych nie wygrzebałem. 2014 anno bastardi zespół przyjmuje obecny szyld, by jeszcze tego samego roku uderzyć z debiutanckim demem „Among the Vortex of Chaos”. Świetne demo, które do dzisiaj uwielbiam posłuchać. Demo, które już wtedy sygnalizowało, że będzie obiecująco. I było. I jest.
ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION uderzyli ze swoją muzyką w nawę hybrydy Death i Black Metalu. Materiał jest jednocześnie intensywny, ale nie pozbawiony dozy otchłani, która bezlitośnie zieje w słuchacza. Co więcej, album tchnie brudem kompozycji i zdarzają się też, jak choćby w otwierającym „Spiral Scythes of Endless Pain”, motywy Thrash Metalu. Żadne to uchybienie. Moim zdaniem, nadaje szerszego spektrum kompozycyjnego materiałowi, wzbogaca go o kolejne elementy. Masywne brzmienie to kolejna zaleta tego wydawnictwa. Co więcej, jest organiczne, nie ma przesadzonej pracy studyjnej w dopieszczaniu do perfekcji. Riffy to konglomerat smolistości połączonej z diabelskim graniem. Bardzo dobre pomysły, które zostały przekute na dźwięk i szarpią niczym bestialskie harpie nasze narządy słuchu. Zwolnienia jakie horda stosuje są znamienite! Wolno toczące się, a na przedzie wręcz widać smołę lejącą się z gitary solowej. Jeżeli już mowa o szybkości, to horda stosuje bardzo wyraźne obroty. W większości mamy do czynienia z szybkimi partiami i średnimi. Na „Cursed Blood of Doom” są też, dla podkreślenia infernalnej atmosfery, wstawki ambientowe. Dla przykładu, taki dwu minutowy utwór jak „Stills of fire and Poison” wprowadza kunsztownie rytualną aurę do całości albumu. Wokale to skrzyżowanie growli, gardłowych krzyków w których zawarty jest chaos i coś złowieszczego. Potężny album!
„Cursed Blood of Doom” to album, który chyba przeszedł trochę bez echa w podziemiu. Z drugiej strony czemu się tu dziwić? Tysiące wydawnictw ukazują się każdego roku i łatwo jest coś przeoczyć. Hiszpanie z ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION wydali naprawdę solidny album do którego wraca się z niekrytą chęcią. Kto jeszcze nie ma niech nabywa, bo to trzeba mieć!

It’s a pity that this promising creation has been somewhat silenced. It’s not a tragedy, because it’s only the third year of silence from the Spaniards, but it’s a bit worrying. On the other hand, nothing like that happens, because there are still tons of projects/bands to listen to. However, I liked the debut so much and I come back to it quite often that I’d prefer if the second album was made. Let’s leave the matters not depending on me aside and focus on ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION. Horde was formed in 2010, but until 2014 it functioned under the name Kill As One. I know absolutely nothing about this creation, and I didn’t dig up any information either. 2014 anno bastardi the band adopts the current name, to hit the same year with the debut demo „Among the Vortex of Chaos”. A great demo that I still love to listen to today. A demo that signaled even then that it was going to be promising. And it was. And it is.
ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION hit the aisle of hybrid Death and Black Metal with their music. The material is at the same time intense, but not lacking a dose of abyss, which mercilessly yawns at the listener. What’s more, the album breathes with the dirtiness of the compositions and there are also, as for example in the opening „Spiral Scythes of Endless Pain”, Thrash Metal themes. It is not a shortcoming. In my opinion, it gives a wider compositional spectrum to the music, enriching it with new elements. Massive sound is another advantage of this release. Moreover, it is organic, there is no exaggerated studio work in polishing to perfection. Riffs are a conglomerate of tariness combined with devilish playing. Very good ideas, which are transformed into sound and tug at our hearing organs like bestial harpies. The slowdowns that the horde uses are outstanding! Slowly rolling, and at the front you can even see the tar pouring from the solo guitar. Speaking of speed, the horde uses very distinct rotations. For the most part, we are dealing with fast parts and medium parts. On „Cursed Blood of Doom” there are also ambient inserts to emphasize the infernal atmosphere. For example, such a two-minute track as „Stills of fire and Poison” introduces an artfully ritualistic aura to the whole album. The vocals are a cross between growls, throaty screams in which chaos and something sinister is contained. A powerful album!
„Cursed Blood of Doom” is an album that seems to have passed unnoticed in the underground. On the other hand, why be surprised? Thousands of releases come out every year and it is easy to overlook something. The Spaniards of ARKAIK EXCRUCIATION have released a really solid album, to which one returns with undisguised pleasure. If you don’t have it yet, buy it, because it’s a must have!
