Jednoosobowy projekt BLOOD SORCERY to kolejna nowość w undergroundzie. Tym razem jesteśmy w Szwecji i muszę to powiedzieć już na wstępie – absolutna surowizna wprost z najdalszych piwnic Piekieł. Genezy powstania bądź jakichkolwiek innych informacji nie znajdziemy więc bez zbędnego przedłużania, przejdźmy do zawartości „Chapel of Blood (Part I)”.
Czery utwory jakie znalazły się na tym demie aż kipią nienawiścią i totalnym piwnicznym feelingiem. Trzeba przyznać, że osoba stojąca za BLOOD SORCERY wie dokładnie co robi oraz czuje tą muzykę całym sobą. Łącznie mamy tutaj prawie osiemnaście minut surowości, otchłanicznej głębi i korytarzy ciągnących się przez krypty totalnej nienawiści. Brzmienie dema, jak zostało to już powiedziane, jest surowe i minimalistyczne. Trzeba zaznaczyć, że pomimo tego zabiegu, całość instrumentów jest czytelna i dalekie jest to od kakofonicznej produkcji. Gitary bzyczą i tną w najlepsze archaiczne riffy. Zero innowacji, zero odkrywczości. Tylko w tym tkwi urok tego dema – jest to Black Metal w swojej tradycyjnej formie: obskurny, paskudny i pełen choroby. Kolejna sprawa, którą należy wskazać, to partie gitary basowej. Ta z kolei brzmi nader dobrze i jest bardzo dobrze słyszalna. Proste, pulsujące dźwięki dodające dynamiki, napędzające ten ohydny rytuał. Perkusja surowa jak skurwysyn, ale mimo tego po chwili okazuje się, że ten pukający głucho werbel jest idealnym rozwiązaniem. Prędkości utworów zróżnicowane, ale nie są to drastyczne zmiany. Pomimo krótkiego czasu trwania dema, materiał na nim zawarty dobrze się rozwija, dobrze płynie i nie znalazłem fragmentów, które mogłyby zakłócać odbiór całokształtu muzyki. Ostatnia sprawa to wokale, równie surowe co same zaprezentowane przez BLOOD SORCERY dźwięki.
Dla części z słuchaczy ten materiał będzie kwadratowy i oklepany, wręcz nużący. Dla drugiej części – w tym i dla mnie samego – „Chapel of Blood (Part I)” chwyci duszę i czarne serce pozwalając radować zmysły. Moim zdaniem demo to jest warte niejednego odsłuchu. Zimno, surowość i grób.

One-man project BLOOD SORCERY is another newcomer in the underground. This time we are in Sweden and I have to say it at the very beginning – it’ s absolute raw stuff straight from the furthest cellars of Hell. We won’t find the origins of the band or any other information, so without further ado, let’s move on to the contents of „Chapel of Blood (Part I)”.
Four tracks on this demo are full of hatred and total basement feeling. I must admit that the person behind BLOOD SORCERY knows exactly what he is doing and feels this music with all his heart. In total, we have here almost eighteen minutes of rawness, abyssal depths and corridors stretching through the crypts of total hatred. The sound of the demo, as it was already said, is raw and minimalistic. It should be noted that despite this treatment, all the instruments are legible and it is far from a cacophonous production. Guitars buzz and cut in the best archaic riffs. No innovation, no inventiveness. That’ s the only charm of this demo – this is Black Metal in its traditional form: sordid, ugly and full of sickness. Another thing that should be pointed out is the bass guitar parts. This one, in turn, sounds exceedingly good and is very listenable. Simple, pulsating sounds adding dynamics, propelling this hideous ritual. The drums are raw as a fukk, but still, after a while, it turns out that this thumping snare drum is the perfect solution. Track speeds vary, but the changes are not drastic. Despite the short duration of the demo, the material on it develops well, flows well and I haven’t found any fragments that could disturb the perception of the overall music. The last thing is the vocals, as harsh as the sounds presented by BLOOD SORCERY themselves.
For some of the listeners this material will be square and clichéd, even tedious. For the other part – including myself – „Chapel of Blood (Part I)” will grab the soul and the black heart, letting the senses rejoice. In my opinion this demo is worth more than one listen. Real cold, raw and tomb-like.
