Islandczycy po jakże udanym debiucie z 2015 roku, uderzają obecnie z drugim pełniakiem. W sieci pojawiło się już sporo recenzji na temat tego albumu. I słusznie, albowiem i ten materiał prezentuje równie wysoki poziom jak w przypadku „Söngvar elds og óreiðu”. W niezmienionym składzie, horda wdziera się bezpardonowo w mroczne czeluści Chaosu, dosłownie owijając sobie słuchacza wokół palca. Mrok, ból, śmierć… Zapraszam.
Zacznę chyba od tego, że MISÞYRMING mają znakomicie opanowany warsztat muzyczny. Dzięki czemu, Black Metal w ich wykonaniu to po prostu muzyka nietuzinkowa. Doświadczymy tu ogrom melodyki, która swą ciemnością, magią przekazu, chwyci niejednego za serce i nie puści. W tych dźwiękach siedzi zarówno coś hipnotyzującego, ale też i niepokojącego. Pozorne piękno mami, by okazać się niewyobrażalną grozą. Gitary i ich aranżacje to właśnie tak hipnoza, te pozorne obietnice czegoś wspaniałego, by na dobrą sprawę zrzucić na głowę słuchacza duchotę i wyrzygać bezmiar bezsilności. Siedzi w tym jednak również potężna dawka atmosfery czegoś potężnego, czegoś do czego ten album jest skierowany. Jest w tej muzyce coś, co sprawia, że podczas analizy kompozycji niby nie ma tu niczego wyjątkowego. Jednakże, słuchając tego albumu odnoszę wrażenie, że obcuję z czymś niesamowitym, unikalnym. Świetne partie perkusji, która gęsto ściele się w tle. Nawet w wolnych fragmentach „Algleymi” słychać sporo wypełnień i przejść na tomach, które utrzymują słuchacza w skupieniu do samego końca materiału. Równie mocna i wyraźnie słyszalna gitara basowa wprowadza lekkie wrażenie awangardy do nagrania. I te wokale, zdecydowane, wypluwające jad dnia powszedniego w swoich wizjach…
Cóż mogę dodać na zakończenie? Zapewne same powtórzenia, ponieważ jest to świetny album. Jego złożoność a zarazem pełny obraz to istna parabola uczuć jakie wzbudza ta muzyka. Stylistycznie, gdyby tak szczegółowo przyjrzeć się strukturom utworów, to nawet już nie do końca tylko Black Metal. Jednakże, atmosferą i całokształtem jak najbardziej klasyfikuje się w tą szufladkę. Ci z was, którzy zostali zniewoleni pierwszym albumem Islandczyków, powinni zdecydowanie jak najszybciej kupić ten album.

The Icelanders are now hitting the road with their second full-length after their highly successful 2015 debut. There have already been quite a few reviews online about this album. And rightly so, for this material also presents as high a level as in the case of „Söngvar elds og óreiðu”. In an unchanged line-up, the horde ruthlessly plunges into the dark depths of Chaos, literally wrapping the listener around its finger. Darkness, pain, death… I invite you.
Let me start with the fact that MISÞYRMING have mastered the music technique perfectly. Thanks to that their Black Metal is simply uncommon music. We will experience the immensity of melodics which with its darkness and magic of message will grab the heart of many and won’t let go. There is something hypnotizing, but also disturbing in these sounds. Apparent beauty seduces, only to turn out to be unimaginable horror. The guitars and their arrangements are just so hypnotic, these seeming promises of something wonderful to make the listener’s head spin and howl with helplessness. However, there is also a powerful dose of atmosphere of something powerful, something this album is aimed at. There is something about this music that makes it seem like there is nothing special here when analyzing the compositions. However, listening to this album I have an impression that I am dealing with something incredible, unique. Great parts of drums, which densely strolls in the background. Even in slow fragments of „Algleymi” you can hear a lot of fills and transitions on the toms, which keep the listener focused until the very end of the material. Equally strong and clearly audible bass guitar brings a slight impression of avant-garde to the recording. And those vocals, determined, spitting out the venom of everyday life in their visions…
What can I add at the end? Probably just repetitions, because this is a great album. Its complexity and at the same time full image is a veritable parabola of feelings aroused by this music. Stylistically, if one looks at the song structures in detail, it’s not even entirely Black Metal anymore. However, with the atmosphere and the overall shape of the music, it falls into this category. Those of you who were enslaved by the Icelanders’ first album should definitely buy this one as soon as possible.
