W 2017 roku Finowie wydali swój trzeci już album, tym razem pod skrzydłami Werewolf Records. Horda ma swoje początku już w 1995 roku, ale pod obecną nazwą działa od 1999 roku. Pamiętam jeszcze moje pierwsze spotkanie z tym tworem przy okazji 'Henkeen ja vereen’, kompilacyjnego wydawnictwa które katowałem niemiłosiernie długo. Pomimo, że był to raptem zbiór nagrań z prób, demosów z czego jedno z nich nie było nigdy wydane, to surowość i totalny brud brzmienia porwał mnie bezpowrotnie. I tak już z FÖRGJORD zostałem po dziś dzień.

’Uhripuu’ można by określić mianem charakterystycznego albumu Black Metalowego dla Fińskiej sceny. Chropowatość brzmienia, ten jakże rozpoznawalny brud połączony z prostotą struktur utworów, daje w efekcie piorunujący efekt. Prawda jest taka, że słuchając ich muzyki nawet bez kwapienia się celem tłumaczenia ich tekstów z fińskiego, przekaz może zostać bardzo łatwo zrozumiany. Poziom Zła czającego się w dźwiękach skomponowanych przez FÖRGJORD jest wręcz na wyciągnięcie ręki, rzeczywisty i namacalny. Co więcej, wyegzekwowanie melodii połączonej z niesamowitym feelingiem z tak rygorystycznego wręcz podejścia do Black Metalu jak w przypadku tego albumu , zakrawa na miarę przynajmniej bardzo przemyślanego i jeszcze bardziej udanego w efekcie zabiegu kompozycyjnego. Pod całunem prymitywnej surowizny skryte zostały łakome kąski, które wychodzą na jaw po kilku przesłuchaniach. W szczególności riffy gitary prowadzącej – melodie, które nawet po części mają w sobie mały procent folkloru. Trudno to opisać, ale album ma naprawdę wręcz genialnie ułożoną set-listę. Wszystko jest cholernie spójne, a kolejność utworów wydaje się być bardzo przemyślana. Kolejny plus 'Uhripuu’ to wyważenie brzmienia i poziomów głośności wszystkich instrumentów, włączając w to także wokale. Te z kolei, pomimo swej donośności i pieprzonej trucizny jaką w sobie niosą, nie zagłuszają pozostałych partii reszty hordy. Niby nic wielkiego, ale pamiętać należy, że w tak nieugłaskanym materiale, to jednak spore wyzwanie które udało się osiągnąć. Poza wspomnianą aurą Zła, jest tu też spora dawka bólu. W wolniejszych partiach i tam gdzie pojawiają się fragmentami klawisze, atmosfera gęstnieje i ujawnia się właśnie owe cierpienie. Mocne, całą duszą i diabelnie wyraziste (w szczególności w utworze 'Kiviseen syleilyyn’).

Trzeci album FÖRGJORD to konkretny album, którego maniacy Fińskiego Black Metalu nie powinni przegapić. Ci z was, którzy opisywaną hordę znają, wiedzą czego się spodziewać. Połączenie brudu z niesamowitą dawką Zła i mąk daje efekt, którego doświadczycie słuchając trzeciego opusu zatytułowanego 'Uhripuu’. Należy dodać, że ukazał się właśnie następca, czwarty album, który kosi niemiłosiernie!

In 2017, the Finns released their third album, this time under the wing of Werewolf Records. Horde has its beginnings back in 1995, but under its current name it has been active since 1999. I still remember my first meeting with this formation on the occasion of 'Henkeen ja vereen’, a compilation release which I was devouring mercilessly for a long time. Despite the fact that it was just a collection of rehearsals and demos, one of which had never been released, the rawness and total filth of the sound grabbed me irresistibly. And that’s how I’ve stayed with FÖRGJORD to this day.

’Uhripuu’ could be described as a characteristic Black Metal album for the Finnish scene. The roughness of the sound, the recognizable dirtiness combined with the simplicity of the song structures results in an electrifying effect. The truth is that even listening to their music without bothering to translate their lyrics from Finnish, the message can be easily understood. The level of evil lurking in the sounds composed by FÖRGJORD is right at your fingertips, real and tangible. What’s more, enforcing a melody combined with an unbelievable feeling from such a rigorous approach to Black Metal as this album does, is at the very least a very well thought out and even more successful compositional endeavor. Under the shroud of primitive rawness are hidden some tasty bits, which come to light after a few listens. In particular, the lead guitar riffs – melodies that even in part have a small percentage of folklore in them. It’s hard to describe, but the album has a really downright brilliant set-list. Everything is pretty damn coherent and the order of the songs seems to be very well thought out. Another plus of 'Uhripuu’ is the balance of sound and volume levels of all instruments, including the vocals. These in turn, despite their loudness and the fucking poison they carry, do not drown out the rest of the horde. It’s not a big deal, but you have to remember that in such unpolished material, it’s quite a challenge which they managed to achieve. Apart from the aura of Evil mentioned above, there is also a large dose of pain. In the slower parts and where some keyboards appear, the atmosphere thickens and this suffering is revealed. Strong, full of soul and devilishly expressive (especially in 'Kiviseen syleilyyn’).

FÖRGJORD’s third album is a definite must for Finnish Black Metal maniacs. Those of you who know the described horde know what to expect. The combination of filth with an incredible dose of Evil and torment gives the effect that you will experience while listening to the third opus entitled 'Uhripuu’. It should be added that the successor, the fourth album has just been released and it kills mercilessly!
